Congratulations to Practical Nursing student Riley Casher, who was recently nominated for the September 2026 Sunflower Award by her classmate, Cassandra Frantz.

Riley is in her third semester of the part-time day Practical Nursing Program at CCCTC. She was nominated in recognition of her compassion, kindness, and willingness to go above and beyond in caring for patients and supporting fellow students.

Cassandra shared these kind words in her nomination:

“Riley is always caring, sharing and helpful with class and clinical work. She is always there to answer questions and help with anything. She is always smiling and always kind.”

The sunflower symbolizes happiness, optimism, honesty, peace, admiration, and devotion. These are all wonderful qualities for future nurses to demonstrate as they care for their patients and support those around them.

The Sunflower Award recognizes students whose kindness, compassion, and dedication make a positive difference in the lives of others. We are proud to see Riley's hard work and caring spirit recognized!
