Practical Nursing student Hailey Jordan was one of two students recently nominated for the May 2026 Sunflower Award by her classmate, Emily Palmer. Jordan is currently in her third semester of the full-time CCCTC Practical Nursing Program. She was nominated in recognition of her commitment to going above and beyond in the care of her patients and for the support she provides to fellow students, staff members, and the community.

Emily shared the following in her nomination:

"Hailey is one of the absolute sweetest souls I've had the pleasure of meeting. I can't think of anyone more sweet, helpful, and supportive. I'm extremely happy to be surrounded by her genuine positivity and uplifting spirit. I hope she knows how appreciated she is!"

The sunflower was chosen as the symbol of this award because it represents happiness, optimism, honesty, longevity, peace, admiration, and devotion. The sunflower surpasses all others in its universal ability to bring people joy, qualities that future nurses strive to embody and share with their patients. Students may be nominated by fellow students, patients, instructors, or anyone who has been touched and inspired by their work, kindness, compassion, and dedication.
