The Clearfield County Career and Technology Center (CCCTC) Welding and Metal Fabrication program recently added a Miller Collaborative Robot Welder to its training equipment. This advanced piece of technology allows students to gain hands-on experience with automation and robotics, preparing them for the rapidly evolving manufacturing and welding industries.

Jim Senior, Airgas Account Manager; Troy Gerber, Airgas Industrial Gas Specialist; and Karson Amos, Miller Electric Automation Product Specialist, spent the day on campus setting up and programming the unit. They also provided training and demonstrations on its capabilities.

Instructors Jayna Vicary and Dave Rupert are currently learning to operate and integrate the machine into classroom instruction. Once fully implemented, students will have the opportunity to work directly with the Cobot, practicing precision welding applications and learning how automation improves safety, efficiency, and consistency in production settings.

The addition of the Miller Cobot highlights CCCTC’s commitment to staying at the forefront of industry technology and ensuring students graduate with relevant, in-demand skills that make them career-ready on day one.
