Students in the Digital Media Arts program at the Clearfield County Career and Technology Center (CCCTC) recently explored the fascinating world of long exposure photography. This hands-on lesson introduced students to the artistic and practical applications of the technique, with a special focus on light painting photography.
Using a variety of light sources and camera settings, students experimented with how light and time affect image outcomes. They then developed shot lists based on personal design themes and began capturing their creative visions.
Although each student followed the same project guidelines, every final video was uniquely different—reflecting individual creativity and interpretation.
After capturing their shots, students edited and enhanced their images using Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom. To showcase their work, they compiled their photos into dynamic video presentations featuring transitions, keyframe animations, sound effects, and background music—each infused with the student's personal style.
This featured project was created by Digital Media Arts student Shalee Hoover, whose work highlights the unique combination of technical skill and personal creativity fostered in the program.
This project not only strengthened their technical skills but also gave them the opportunity to express creativity while simulating real-world multimedia production workflows.
